KANATÇI HAYDAR

Kanatçı Haydar is Haydar Asan who was born in 1956 in Tunceli. He came to İstanbul during 1970s. Mr. Haydar comes from below that is, he had worked in almost every position of the restaurant sector, from dishwashing to being the chief-waiter.

Toward the end of the 70s, he managed his own restaurant in Yedikule, together with the important positions he held in several famous restaurants of İstanbul during that time, among which were 'Keban Et Lokantası', 'Buhara Ocakbası', 'Malatyalı Rıfat Usta' and 'Cınarcık Et Lokantası'.


He was influenced, during this period, by the Southeast Anatolian cuisine and its masters, reflecting this culture within the menus of his own restaurants later on. Dwelling in Kocasinan district of İstanbul in the early 90s, Mr. Haydar sowed the seeds of the sector of chicken wings here.

Haydar Asan inaugurated his current reastaurant, 'Kanatçı Haydar', to your service in Mezbaha Avenue Ahlat Street, after he left his company, founded in 2000 and composed of a few sharaholders, due to the problems with the partners. In this respect, he now has no connection with the restaurant named 'Kanatçı Haydar'ın Yeri' which is on Mahmutbey avenue Depo station, attached to Gelişim Hospital. Neither has he any connection with 'Mahmutbey Kanatcisi' in Kozyatağı and 'İstanbul Kanatcısı' in Çerkezköy.
